The gravity defying cantilevered design of the Whale Tail Desk was inspired by the natural form of the rare North Atlantic Right Whale as it breeches in preparation for a deep dive. The lower torso/pedestal is bolted to the floor for stability, while wiring is concealed by means of an internal "vertebrae" wire management system. The oval shaped "blow hole" in the top is an anthracite grommet for wire access.

The desk as shown was crafted from Macassar Ebony and is currently part of a private collection in Moscow.
